Terms of service

Welcome to Riser. Riser is a platform for skilled people to sell paid content, run paid livestreams, and offer paid consultations. These terms govern your use of Riser. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

Who can use Riser

You must be at least 18 years old to use Riser as a creator or to make purchases. Creator accounts are invite-only during v1. You must provide accurate information and keep your account secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

What creators can publish

Creators may publish paid posts, schedule and run paid livestreams, and offer paid consultations within their area of skill or knowledge. Creators are responsible for the content they publish and for any claims they make about their qualifications.

What is not allowed

The following content and activity is prohibited on Riser:

• Nudity, sexual content, or content intended to arouse.
• Illegal activity, including the sale of regulated goods or services without proper authorization.
• Harassment, hate speech, threats, or doxxing.
• Spam, fraud, scams, or impersonation.
• Content that infringes third party copyrights or trademarks.
• Activity that violates the terms of service of payment processors Riser depends on, including Stripe.

Regulated fields

Licensed tradespeople and professionals are welcome to teach, advise, and consult on Riser. However, content must not be presented as a substitute for hiring a licensed professional in the viewer’s jurisdiction. Creators in regulated fields (electrical, gas, structural, medical, legal, financial) should include clear disclaimers and respect local licensing requirements.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Creators receive 70 percent of each payment. Riser retains 30 percent as a platform fee. Payouts to creators are subject to Stripe Connect terms and to Stripe’s payout schedule. Riser does not hold creator funds directly.

Refunds are at the discretion of the creator and Riser, evaluated case by case. Riser may issue refunds on behalf of a creator in cases of fraud, technical failure, or material misrepresentation.

Intellectual property

Creators retain ownership of the content they publish on Riser. By publishing on Riser, creators grant Riser a non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute the content as needed to operate the service. Consumers who purchase access to content are granted personal viewing rights only and may not redistribute, resell, or republish the content.

Disclaimers

Riser provides the platform, not the expertise. Content on Riser is published by independent creators. Riser does not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, safety, or legality of any creator’s content or advice. Consumers should use their own judgment, consult licensed professionals where appropriate, and never undertake work that could cause harm without proper training and authorization.

Enforcement

Riser may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms. Violations may result in account suspension, removal of content, forfeit of pending payouts, and permanent ban from the platform. Decisions are at Riser’s discretion.

Changes

Riser may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to active accounts. Continued use of Riser after changes constitutes acceptance.
